Trivia[]

  • On page 56, Tamara Smart, Juliet’s actress, describes how she originally auditioned for the role of Holly, but was passed over, with Lara Mcdonnell being the final choice. She was called back by director Kenneth Branagh and was then cast as the supporting role of Juliet.
  • On page 90, there exists a diagram showing the layout of Fowl Manor, where Angeline Fowl's bedroom is labeled but with a typo, spelling her name as "Angelina". Most other references to her in the text appear to have been cut, as her role was eliminated from the final film, other than the brief mention that she passed away before the plot takes place.
  • On page 114, there is a whole section dedicated to describing the Ho Chi Minh city scene, that also shows several screenshots. The scene is based on the original first chapter of the first Artemis Fowl book, where Artemis and Butler encounter the sprite that gives them the Book, despite the scene being cut from the final film, it then only available as a deleted scene on Disney+, before removal from the platform. The scene was also in the original trailer for the film before it was delayed by a year.
  • On page 154, the film's hair and makeup designer Carol Hemming states that they chose to depict Butler as having dark skin, light hair, and blue eyes in reference to the Cheddar Man archeological find; a human male fossil found in Gough's Cave in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, England, dated around the mid-to-late 9th millennium BC, that DNA evidence showed to have darker skin and hair than modern-day northwest Europeans.
