The Great Techno-Crash happened in Artemis Fowl and the Last Guardian (novel):The Last Guardian, where thousands of old and new devices with Koboi technology (both above and below ground) stopped working and a large number of them exploded. This resulted in a lot of casualties and fairy sightings. To make matters worse, 200 assorted weapons were scheduled for recycling but were all dropped at once, resulting in a huge nuclear explosion with dealt a lot of casualties and fatalities.
