The buzz baton is a device used by the Lower Elements Police to break up riots or detain criminals. It can harm or stun, and has a voltage of at least 10,000 volts. It is most likely identical in function to a taser.
Incidents
Captain Short uses it many times throughout the series.
In The Arctic Incident, LEP officers use them to hold off the softnose-armed goblins, as their other weapons were sabotaged by Opal Koboi.
